  **What's changed**

  * Renamed the experimental `ana ob` command to `ana platform` on supported Unix platforms and removed the experimental feature requirement.
  * Added login requirements for commands that manage tools, configure features, and access services. Authentication commands, self-update, feedback, and installer downloads remain available without login.
  * Added direct setup of AI coding assistants with `ana mcp`, including installation of the Anaconda Intelligence skill.
  * Added `ana channel create`, `ana channel remove`, and `ana channel upload` for private channels and packages.
  * Added subscription-based channel selection and a terms-of-service disclaimer for `main-x`, and removed its beta designation.
  * Added support for a conda-package build, with self-update and managed tool installation disabled because conda manages those operations.

  **What's fixed**

  * Cleaned up broken symlinks in `~/.ana/bin` during tool management.
  * Added a warning when disabling `main-x` for one tool leaves it enabled for the other.
  * Prevented duplicated multi-select prompts in narrow terminals.
  * Forwarded help requests to the wrapped CLI for `ana org` and supported `ana platform` commands.

</Update>

<Update label="0.2.4" description="2026-07-28">
  **What's new**

  * Added automatic update notifications after successful commands. Notifications do not install updates and can be disabled with `ANA_UPDATE_CHECK=false`.

  **What's fixed**

  * Changed the `main-x` conda configuration to use `default_channels` instead of adding entries to `channels`.

  [Full release notes](https://github.com/anaconda/anaconda-cli/releases/tag/v0.2.4)
</Update>

<Update label="0.2.3" description="2026-07-14">
  **Improvements**

  * Updated terminal colors for better portability.
  * Clarified when to restart the shell after installation.
  * Updated MCP command wrappers and added typed arguments to their help output.

  **What's fixed**

  * Updated managed tools to use the versions included with each ana release.

  [Full release notes](https://github.com/anaconda/anaconda-cli/releases/tag/v0.2.3)
</Update>

<Update label="0.2.2" description="2026-06-18">
  **What's new**

  * Added an externally managed installers table to `ana tool list`.

</Update>

<Update label="0.2.1" description="2026-06-16">
  **What's fixed**

  Fixed a release build caching issue that prevented some v0.2.0 changes from being compiled into its binary. This release rebuilds the CLI with the changes described in the v0.2.0 entry; it does not add application features beyond those changes.

  [Full release notes](https://github.com/anaconda/anaconda-cli/releases/tag/v0.2.1)
</Update>

<Update label="0.2.0" description="2026-06-15">
  <Warning>
    A build caching issue left some of the following changes out of the v0.2.0 binary. Use v0.2.1 or later to obtain the corrected build.
  </Warning>

  **Breaking changes**

  Removed the managed `anaconda` symlink to avoid shadowing the command in conda's base environment. Use `ana org` for the wrapped Anaconda.org commands.

  **What's new**

  Added `ana tool download miniconda` to download the installer for the current platform and verify its checksum. The command does not run the installer.

  **What's fixed**

  * Sent the HTTP status from `ana api fetch` to standard error, and added validation for empty or invalid URLs.
  * Preserved the `main` channel when disabling `main-x` for pixi.
  * Supported keyrings containing repository tokens written by `anaconda-auth`.

<Update label="0.1.6" description="2026-05-19">
  **What's fixed**

  * Fixed help parsing so commands accept `--help` without requiring their usual positional arguments.
  * Improved the error message when conda is not installed.
  * Cached the user identifier in the keyring.

  **What's fixed**

  * Skipped downloads when `ana self update` targets the installed version, unless an explicit version is combined with `--force`.
  * Raised the open-file limit to reduce "too many open files" failures during tool installation on macOS.
